      Keynote: Your Future in VR
      9:40am - 10:00am Oct 18
VR is a technically logical continuation of 3D And just like already in the 3D-world, we are longing for Holodeck worlds, which we may access without glasses or something alike.

      VR with glasses and headphone…
… is the conquest of the infinite widths of space at the price of a complete "intermedial isolation".

VR is immersion in the "head cinema"/ "movie-mind" to experience in these artificial areas the illusion of the transcendence.

VR makes us all apprentices again
However the attraction is to start again from „zero“; it entices us to dream of something “new“ – and to make it “real“ in a virtual world.

VR can be the key to many “new worlds”
And nevertheless it runs the risk that in these „worlds“ too, scenarios of the “old world” will often celebrate merry revivals.

We, the VR Makers, we are still the avant-garde now
however who will command the armies, that will follow?

      Our future in VR?
Like a pro crust bed, in which the makers of man-kind will abandon the brink between day and night.

      ARA PACIS
      3:00pm - 3:15pm Oct 18
Immersivity is one of the main features of high quality Virtual Reality experiences. Indeed, much attention has been recently devoted to immersive technologies mainly as a consequence of the widespread adoption of Virtual Reality headsets. Seldomly the term "immersive" is used today to make reference to Augmented Reality technologies. This happens mainly because of the limitation of current AR displays. The talk addresses the concepts of immersivity and presence in the valorization of Cultural Heritage sites by means of advanced Augmented Reality technologies. Specifically, we discuss a work in progress project that employs an immersive Augmented Reality soluion for the valorization of one of the most important monuments in Rome, the Ara Pacis. Hosted in a beautiful building designed by Richard Meyer, Ara Pacis is the symbol of the power exerted by the Augustean lineage across the Roman Empire. The Ara Pacis Augmented Reality solution is developed by ETT in collaboration with Inglobe Technologies for Zetema. It is a first of a kind project based on a unique feature of the ARmedia SDK, namely the support for large scale 3D Object Recognition and Tracking by means of Immersive Virtual Reality Displays - such as the Samsung Gear-VR. The solution allows to navigate thorugh the different POIs of the momunent. Each POI is a gateway to an immersive AR experience that leverages 3D object recognition and tracking to provide visitors with information related to digital reconstructions - both in terms of architecture and socio-historical meaning - of the monument. Large FOV, precision of 3D Tracking, accuracy of CG overlays and personalization of experience are just some of the takeaways of the solution.

Mixed Reality - The Missing Link in E-Commerce
      5:20pm - 5:40pm Oct 18
The 4Bs - Browsing, Building, Beaming, Buying Today’s shopping behavior is changing radically and revenues from online-shopping become more essential to producers & retailers day by day. Only the lack of being able to see a certain product in real size often creates an imagination gap, scaring clients away from potential online-purchases. AR in retail closes exactly this imagination gap and so much more. Giving the possibility to customize products out of the entire product range, viewing it LIVE in your own environment, via mobile devices or even as holograms, open a completely new way of interacting with clients. Closing the imagination gap, speeding up purchasing decisions and creating a completely new customer journey are only a few of the benefits Augmented and Mixed Reality are providing. Be part of this keynote and learn more about the potentials and the design of the customer journey of tomorrow, experiencing hands on demos and diving into future concepts.
